ART RAGE

Art Rage, well for starters it is way harder than you could think. Well its hard for me anyway some people find it really easy but I would say that they are an artist.
Art Rage is fun and you can do lots of different things and use lots of different things as well like, paint, and it really looks like paint. There are also things like crayons, pencils, pens, smudging and a rubber. These are all the things you can get because it is free software. You are also able to buy it and more things will be available to you. So far in art rage I have done lots of things and so has my group.
It is lots of fun.

wood work

Bang crash the wood work room was noisy. The lights were flickering on and off, the drill's zooming through the wood like a pen clicking shut. The wood work smelled of fresh glue, and saw dust that floated through the soft air. The room was hot, and sticky with our geeky glasses and long baggy apron's with a big variety of colours. The noise was irratating; the soft comfy ear muffs surronded my ears, the earings piercing my skin. My nails were filled with glue underneath and ontop of my nails. My eyes were getting tired, I yawned. My black top was sticking to my skin the back of my apron tied to tight for comfort. Everyone was running into each other, crashing, and tipping over the nails that were placed lazily on the table.

Finishing my latest product, two more terms until high school, can't wait to go but don't want to leave the wood work room. The noise fading as I head out the door getting ready to leave.

Wood-Work

In tech (terms 2-3) we have doing our work on containers.
In woodwork the latest thing we made was these awesome things called a marble maze!
Preparation:
At first we started with these things called “dove tails”
“Dove tails” are a sort of edge type thing that link together to make a link that if you do it properly you will get a L shaped thing that is hard to break.
You can break it though if u pull them away from each other the right way.
Next we made a square shape by joining all the dove tails together.
Next we put a box inside the square and made a maze.
After you do that you can put the marble in, attach rods and you’re finished!

Baked potatoes

IN cooking we made stuffed potatoes!!!
1. The people that were in my cooking group are: Kenneth, Isaac, and Nik!
2. I think that we all worked really well together in the cooking room with my team
3
Ingredients:
2 medium potatoes
1x table spoon of milk
1x shakes of salt, and pepper
50 grams of tasty cheese, chooped, or grated finely
1-3 slices of bacon-chopped/or/ or a small amount of beef mince let’s say about: 10 grams.
1x finely chopped regular onion
2x crushed garlic cloves-using a garlic crusher.

Method to making baked stuffed potatoes:
1. Scrub the potato with a scrubbing brush, and prick each of the potatoes each 4 or 5 times.
2 Heat 2x teaspoons of olive oil in a frying pan.
3. Chop onion, crushed garlic, and fry gently with the bacon or the mince. Can add a sauce to add more flavour when cooked/or before it is cooked! Remove from heat and put into a bowl
4. Remove the top of the potato (or cut in half) and carefully scoop out the centre. Add this to the bowl.
5. Stir in the milk and mix well.
6. Put the mixture back into the potato skin, and reheat for (20- 30 seconds in the microwave.
7. Other ingredients for the stuffing could be: spaghetti, baked beans, corn, cold meats, ham, salami, cheese, and last of all onion, and carrot.

Woodwork

This year it was my first time coming to Technology, so I was nervous but there was no reason to be because it is so cool coming and doing all the cool stuff there is to do. My favourite part is woodwork because we get to use all the cool tools and we learn to use them all properly so we don’t hurt ourselves. My favourite thing we made in woodwork is the metal puzzle because it challenged me but it wasn’t too hard. I liked making the Jacobs Ladder but I had to help some others so Mr Janes had to finish it for me. I learnt that you have to go fast on the saw otherwise it will take forever and your hand will get sore and tired. You also have to watch your fingers when using a hammer. It sounds so stupid but it really hurts when you accidentally hit your thumb. Trust me I know!!!
When we finish a project early we can make any thing we want that is no going to take too long.

Hard Materials

My favourite thing at Technology so far this year has been woodwork because we did a lot of projects there. We made a Jacob’s ladder and a wooden puzzle that was in a box.
To make the Jacob’s ladder we had to saw bits off a bit of wood. Then we had to put bits of material to join the pieces of wood together. It was very complicated.
The wooden puzzle was in a box. Inside the box was some bent pieces of metal and you had to fit them into holes.
One of the skills I learned in woodwork was how to use the big saw. I had to switch it on and then feed the wood through while making sure that the wood didn’t fly all over the place and I didn’t lose any fingers.

Yum meatballs

17.06.09

This is my first year at tech and my first time in the cooking room. We made the best food ever! I liked the wedges and meat balls. I couldn’t wait to get in there and start cooking them once I knew what we were going to. Cooking is probably my best subject at tech and all the food we got to make like cup cakes, kebabs and salad. But one of the best was the wedges and meat balls. We had to learn a lot of things like how to cut and how to roll but the thing I couldn’t get my head around is using the oven. We had to know how to turn on the oven how to pick a temperature and how to turn on the element. It wasn’t easy and it took a lot of talking and you have to listen.

This was the recipe for the wedges and meat balls!!!

One normal sized potato
Oil( 2T)
Spices or/and flavouring

What you need to do:

1.Get your normal sized potato and cut in to wedges size.
2.Get an oven dish add the oil and put in the potatoes and then season (if you want)
3.then put the wedges in to the oven at 180 degrees for 10mins

Meat balls!!!!
What you need
Mince
Onion
1tsp of soy sauce
Flour
Oil
Method:
Mix all the ingredients together then roll into small balls. Then add oil to a heated frying pan and meat balls when hot.
Cook at middle temperature on the stove for 10min. Make sure you turn them!
Serve them up and EAT !!!

cooking at tech

17th June 2009

It’s MY FIRST year at TECH!!!! It is better than I thought. I liked the cooking room, it was the best. In the cooking room we made cup cakes that were really nice, kebabs and salad, apple crumble , stuffed potato and my favourite wedges.

To make wedges you need:

1. Normal sized potatoes cut into wedges.
2. Oil.
3. Flavouring or spices.

The method:

1. Cut the potatoes in to wedges.
2. Then put in an oven dish to cook.
3. Put the oil in the dish.
4. Then sprinkle the spices on.
5. Then EAT IT [yum]

AT TECH THIS YEAR I have learnt a lot.
Some stuff that I learnt is to not cut food going towards you and always cut away from you because I cut my finger and it hurt a lot.

computers

Computers

This was my first year at tech and I was so excited because I would be doing really cool stuff. Not just cool stuff just really, really cool stuff. So sit back and relax because you are going to discover how to you use computers at tech.
So the first step is to keep the computer safe and do not do anything stupid on it because they are not toys they are computers.
They next step is to always save your work then work as hard as you can for Mrs Morgan just like that.
I think that computers are the best. At computers I have learnt how to hyperlink and to save my work that is why I have enjoyed it the most out of all the tech activities.

ENJOY!!!

cooking

This year was my first year at technology and my favourite class is cooking. I loved learning how to make everything but I mostly enjoyed the baked stuffed potato. I loved using the elements and oven.

I had heaps of fun in the foods room and can’t wait to go back in again.

I learnt heaps of skills in the foods room including how to use the oven, elements, and lots of other equipment too. I also learnt how to crème the butter and sugar by hand.

The worst part of cooking was journal notes where you had to sit and actually write while your dish was in the oven. However the best part was eating the yummy food prepared by us!!

Wedges at tech

This year in cooking I enjoyed making new foods and learning heaps of stuff like using an oven and how to whisk something by hand there is many other things I learnt like watching what we put on the stove. Each week we would make a new meal. One of my favourite was an apple crumble because it was yummmmmmm but my favourite hot dish was the meat balls and wedges because it was easy and really fun. Parfait at Technology

This year was my first year at technology and I have really enjoyed all of the classrooms you go to at technology especially the Foods room. In the Foods room we cooked all sorts of things like wedges, meatballs, apple crumble, kebabs, baked potatoes, salads, pasta, a baked snack, cup cakes… but my favourite meal we made was a French desert called Parfait.

The ingredients we used to make this French desert so delicious were:

- Fresh Strawberries
- Banana
- Grapes
- Peaches
- Oranges
- Ice cream or Yoghurt
- Jelly
- Chocolate Chips
- Sprinkles

It was really easy to make this desert because all you do is cut up and prepare the ingredients and put them into a tall glass. You need to try and layer the ingredients in a colourful way do display the stunning colours of your freshly made desert!

In cooking I learnt how to use an oven Safely so you don’t burn yourself. I also learnt the different textures and flavours of food, and the more colours you use the better your food tastes!

Our Exciting Technology Programmes

This year so far there has been lots of exciting things happening. My favourite topic in tech is probably the foods room and studio. The first thing we did was studio and computers in the first term. With studio we did quizzes with L.E.D’s and copper wire so when the copper touched the paper fastener the L.E.D would light up.
In foods my favourite recipe was the wedges and meatballs.

Ingredients
· 1 Potato
· Half a Hand Of Mince
· Spices

Steps for the Wedges
Firstly you wash the potato till there is not much dirt on the potato.
Secondly you need to cut the potato into chip like shapes.
You then place the chips in the oven which should be heated at 200 degrees and cook it for 10 minutes.

Steps for the Meatballs
You roll the mince into medium sized balls and then add a table spoon of oil to a heated frying pan (Heat=Medium) cook them until cooked through and brown.

So far this year I have learnt in Studio that in battery form that negative is better to use than positive.

In cooking I learnt the values of food; like the flavours that onions, garlic and herbs give you and if the smell is great and the colour is great it tastes brilliant.

Put potatoes into oven dish with 1 – 2tsp oil.
Roast at 200degrees for 10mins. Add bacon and sausage slices and roast another 10mins or until golden brown. Season if you want.

Parfait

Parfait

In Miss Skuses food class the first dish we made was Parfait.
We each got a large wine glass and were told to select food like yoghurt, mango, fruit salad, grape and a lot more.
After we had cut up our ingredients and put them into our wine glasses, we thought that it was time to eat but instead, a finishing touch was put in: a pink wafer.
My Parfait was truly delicious and I was very proud of myself.
The lesson was about layering and colour made by food.
In the lesson I learnt about using fruit in a dish and layering.

Here is the recipe:

3 T Cream
5 Grapes
¼ Apple
¼ Mangos
2 T Fruit Salad
1 T Chocolate Chips
1 Wafer {If wanted}

Method:

Find a wine glass {doesn’t matter how big}. Then get what is shown above, but fruit must be used for that is one of the main ingredients.
I am going to be telling you how to make parfait using the ingredients provided above.
Well, to start off with you get out a sharp knife and chop up the fruit to the size you want. When you have finished put a small amount of fruit into the wine glass. Then get 1 tablespoon of cream and put that into the wine glass as well. Also sprinkle a bit of chocolate chips. Keep doing this method until the glass is full or where you want to stop. To top it off, if you want, put in a wafer.

cooking at tech

Cooking with Miss Skuse.
On Wednesday mornings we would go to Miss Skuse
and we made really yummy food like cup cakes.
All the food at cooking was really nice.
I learnt heaps of skills at cooking like how to rub butter and the flour together.
The best food I made I think was the kebabs. The things we could have on our kebabs were
Steak
Chicken
Bacon
Season if you wish
Method
Cut the meat to bite size pieces
Then thread it on to the kebabs stick.
Cook on BBQ for about 5 minutes and serve with a salad.
